DOTSON, JOHN HAROLD Grand Blanc Township John Harold of Grand Blanc, age 70, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his granddaughter's residence on November 6th, 2013. John was born in Grand Rapids, MI on January, 17th, 1943. He spent his early years in Port Huron, MI and the last few months at his house in Higgins Lake, MI. John loved sports, reading, gardening, camping and any family-related activities. He loved having his morning coffee while sitting in the sun room up north watching the sun come up through the trees. His family, which included many friends, meant the world to him. He was a 1961 graduate of Port Huron High School. He also attended Port Huron Junior College and Western Michigan University. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and bravely served in Vietnam. He retired from General Motors in 2002 (GMSPO-Grand Blanc) after 35 years of dedicated service. John was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ida Sue (Violett) Dotson; beloved son, Michael Allen Dotson; ex-wives (yet dear friends), Dianne Dotson and Norma Dotson. Left to honor and cherish his remarkable strength, sense of humor and memory are his sisters, Linda Mae Grumblatt and Sharon Ruth Sorrell; his daughter Kimberly (Thomas) Dotson-Seeley; daughter-in-law Theresa Robnolte; grandchildren, Meghan Dotson, Haley Dotson, Michael Dotson II and Ryan Greenwood; great grandchildren, Kelseigh and Cody Raymond, many honorary grandchildren, Kara, Colton, Camryn and Curtis Robnolte, Paul, Taylor, Courtney, Dominic Orsini and Lemark Veasey; nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning 11:00am at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI . Immediately following the service there will be a Military Service under the auspices of VFW# 3087 Chevrolet Motor Post. A special thank you to Genesys Hospice. Lorraine, Chris and Diane we are forever grateful for the amazing care and comfort that was provided to John and to our entire family. We would have been lost without you!
