LeRoy was my neighbor growing up on Garfield St.  He was a real friend, a good guy.  

we rode to PHHS along with another neighbor as  there was no school bus service for the N end PH

at that time.  Our families were close.  I remember when he completed his USMC training,  He visited our home. Good memories my,thoughts and prayers are for his family.

LeRoy Elliott Munro, 75, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Leroy was born on May 7, 1943 in Port Huron, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a Police Lieutenant with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.


LeRoy touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his cheerful spirit throughout his life. He would help anyone in need and cared deeply for his family. 


LeRoy is predeceased by one brother Melvin (Barbara) and one son, Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Nancy; one sister, Emma, his brothers, Eugene (Marilyn) and Ronald (Carolyn). Leroy is also survived by four children; Jon (Gisela) Thompson, William (Donna) Thompson, Lee Elliott (Manatsanun) Munro and Sheri Thomason. LeRoy is also survived by six grandchildren: Connor, Ryan, Amber, Joshua, Tyler and Philippa.
