Stephen James “Jim” Fischer, 78, of Port Huron Township, died peacefully in the hospital surrounded by his family Friday, June 11, 2021.
He was born September 14, 1942 in Port Huron to the late Julius and Wanda Fischer. He married Terry Oakley on November 4, 1960 in Port Huron.
Mr. Fischer worked in the glass industry for over 30 years, and owned River District Glass Company for 25 years. He enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and was always joking. Jim was a handyman, loved going to the casino, and cherished his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Terry; three daughters, Kim (Timothy) Hudy, Shellie Fischer and Julie Delaney; two grandchildren, Austin Delaney and Whitney Graham; a great grandson, Dawson Hudy; two brothers-in-law, James Richardson and Mike Oakley; nieces and nephews, Susan Fischer, Eric Fischer, Holly (Fred) Beaudry, and Jason Oakley; and great nieces and great nephews, Nathan, Nicole and Adam Beaudry and Koda Oakley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Richardson; brother, William Fischer; and William’s grandchildren, Alyssa and Corey.
