Mary Beth Miorelli of Conyngham passed away at her home Saturday.
Born in Port Huron, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Max and Elizazbeth (LaForge) Martin. She was a 1962 graduate of Port Huron High School and attended Michigan State. Her family relocated to Hazleton and she then attended Penn State University.
In 1965, she married the love of her life, Lou, and settled in the Conyngham Valley to raise their children. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on Oct. 30, 2015.
Mary Beth was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in being a homemaker and loved sharing stories of family, especially of her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. John Bosco Church and was an active volunteer of the parish. She was a member of the Valley Country Club, served as a past board member of the CVCO Pool and the Hazleton Orators Society, and volunteered at Eckley Miners’ Village.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Miorelli, on Jan. 20, 2016.
Mary Beth is survived by her loving sons, David Miorelli and wife, Kristy, Conyngham; and Paul Miorelli, Sugarloaf Township; her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica and Tessa Miorelli; and a brother, Dennis Martin and wife, JoAnn, Dunwoody, Ga.
Mary Beth will be remembered by family and friends as a kind and gentle woman with an infectious smile.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, Conyngham. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass.
