Patricia Ann (Sweet) Gofton, 66, of Port Huron, died Monday, December 7, 2009 after a brief illness.

She was born February 27, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Edward and Gertrude Sweet. She married Gary L. Gofton on February 27, 1965 in Port Huron.

Pat was employed at Earl C. Smith Motor Freight for 26 years and was currently secretary at Birchwood Estates. She was a very active member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she served as an Elder, Church Council Secretary, Wedding Coordinator, and Hand Bell Choir member. 

She enjoyed crafts and following professional tennis.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Gary; her son, Edward G. Gofton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 10, 2009 in St. John's United Church of Christ with the Reverend William B. Terry officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
